Entrepreneurs’ day fun

Entrepreneurs’ Day is such a fantastic opportunity for learners to explore business skills, creativity, and teamwork and when done right, it can also be a fun, memory-making day for everyone involved! Whether you’re a teacher helping your class plan their stalls, or a parent supporting your child’s big ideas, here are some tried-and-tested tips to make the day exciting and profitable.

Sweet treats that sell

From my own experience, sweet treats always draw a crowd. A cotton candy machine was a hit with my learners, the smell and colourful swirls had children lining

up in minutes! Other winning options include:

  • Pancakes – easy to make in batches and perfect for adding toppings like syrup, cinnamon sugar, or chocolate spread. You can even make them at home the evening before entrepreneurs day.

  • Cake pops – cute, bite-sized, and perfect for small hands (plus they look amazing when displayed nicely).

Fun & games for all ages

If you want to keep learners engaged while making sales, games are a must:

  • Raffle tickets – sell tickets for a fun prize. A favourite in my class was a "Guess the Number of Sweets in the Jar" competition. The closest guess wins the jar — and trust me, this draws plenty of curious (and competitive!) participants.

Attract attention with colour and creativity

Kids (and parents) are drawn to visually exciting stalls. Encourage learners to:

  • Make bright, colourful posters advertising their products or games.

  • Add decorations to tables – balloons, bunting, or themed tablecloths make a big difference.

  • Arrange products in an eye-catching way — use cake stands, baskets, or tiered trays for height and variety.

Pro tips for parents

  • Budget & planning – help your child set a budget for ingredients or materials, and guide them on pricing for profit.

  • Practice before the day – whether it’s making pancakes or running a game, a trial run at home can prevent hiccups.

  • Encourage teamwork – if stalls are run by small groups, learners can share tasks and reduce stress.

Entrepreneurs’ Day isn’t just about making money

it’s about creativity, problem-solving, and learning the value of hard work in a fun way. With some colourful ideas, sweet treats, and engaging activities, your child’s stall can stand out and be the talk of the playground!
